The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection announces its collaboration with Maldivian artist Ahmed Aleem Shakoor, who is currently in residence on the island, bringing a distinctive creative dimension to the resort’s guest experience.

A self-taught artist, Ahmed Aleem is recognised for his evocative body of work that blends maritime storytelling, surrealism, and symbolism. Working across watercolours, acrylics, and mixed media, his creations draw from the Maldives’ rich history and oceanic landscapes, often expressed through a unique interplay of light, depth, and narrative.

During his time at the resort, Aleem is collaborating with The Halcyon to curate a series of immersive artistic and cultural experiences designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. Guests are invited to engage with art in an organic and intuitive way — through live painting sessions, informal interactions with the artist, and hands-on workshops that encourage personal expression.

These experiences are seamlessly integrated into the resort’s broader programming, where activities such as Mini Canvas Painting, Coconut Painting, and Creative Art Sessions offer moments of artistic exploration in a relaxed island setting. Alongside these, Tales Painted in Sunlight brings together elements of Maldivian folklore, storytelling, and visual art — creating a deeper, more meaningful connection to the culture and heritage of the islands.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of the Maldives, this collaboration reflects The Halcyon’s commitment to championing local talent while enriching the guest journey through thoughtful, experience-led programming. By inviting guests to explore art not as a structured activity but as a natural extension of island life, the residency offers a quiet yet powerful invitation to slow down, observe, and create.

As part of the resort’s seasonal programming, a curated selection of painting and artistic activities is also included within the Easter program, allowing guests to experience creativity in playful and imaginative ways throughout their stay.
