JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort marked  Earth Hour with a series of mindful experiences designed to bring guests and associates together in a shared moment of  reflection, connection, and care for the natural world. Set against the tranquil beauty of the island, the evening unfolded as  a gentle pause, inviting all to slow down and reconnect with what matters most.

Family by JW offered younger guests an opportunity to engage with the environment in a meaningful and hands-on way.  Through a guided beach clean-up and tree planting activity, children were encouraged to connect with the island’s natural  surroundings while contributing to its preservation. These simple yet impactful moments fostered a sense of responsibility  and appreciation, creating lasting memories rooted in care for the planet.

As the sun began to set, guests gathered for a special Elite Cocktail Hour by the shore, where a gently lit bonfire set the  tone for the evening, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of a traditional Boduberu performance. The experience brought  together culture and community in a relaxed beachfront setting, offering a moment to connect and unwind while honoring  the spirit of the occasion. At Veyo, the resort’s signature dining venue, lights were gently dimmed in observance of Earth  Hour, giving way to a candlelit setting that transformed the space into an intimate and serene environment. Soft flickers of  candlelight and thoughtful decor created a warm ambiance, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the quiet beauty  of the evening.

Spa by JW presented a guided mindful meditation experience, set within the signature Serene Spaces, overlooking the  ocean. Designed to encourage stillness and reflection, the session offered guests an opportunity to reconnect with  themselves and the natural rhythms around them, creating a sense of balance and renewal during the hour of observance. In alignment with the resort’s commitment to sustainability, all lights were also switched off across associate  accommodation areas, ensuring that the spirit of Earth Hour was embraced collectively across the island.

“At JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort, Earth Hour is a meaningful reminder of our shared responsibility to  care for the environment and the communities around us,” said Srikanth Devarapalli, General Manager. “Through  thoughtful experiences that bring together our guests and associates, we aim to create moments of awareness, connection,  and lasting impact.”

Through these collective efforts, JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort reaffirmed its commitment to mindful  practices, creating space for reflection while celebrating the beauty and fragility of the natural world.
