Six Senses Laamu has introduced 17 overwater villas across four new categories as part of a multi-year transformation of the resort. Inspired by the island’s turquoise lagoon, marine life and relaxed surroundings, the new villas feature more space, natural light and a stronger connection to the destination. The resort’s house reef, resident marine team and laid-back island atmosphere remain unchanged, offering familiar experiences alongside the new accommodation options.
The villa interiors feature a coastal palette of soft whites, light neutrals and ocean blues, complemented by natural materials and handcrafted details. Driftwood coffee tables, hanging lamps and sculptural accents add to the design, while textured surfaces inspired by turtle shell patterns bring a distinctive touch. The design pays tribute to the hawksbill and green turtles found in the surrounding waters, reflecting the resort’s continued commitment to marine conservation.

Panoramic windows turn the ocean into living art, blurring the line between interior and open water, while generous spaces make a compelling case for staying in. Each villa features a private 18 sqm pool at the edge of the deck, a hammock slung over the water, expansive outdoor dining and lounge areas, a bathtub facing the sea and an upper deck with views across the lagoon.
Among the newly introduced accommodations are the Ocean Water Villa Suite with Pool, Laamu Water Villa Suite with Pool, Horizon Water Villa Suite with Pool and something entirely new, Family Water Villa with Pool. Each offers spacious interiors with panoramic windows, dedicated seating and dining areas, expanded wardrobes, ocean-view bathtubs and spacious outdoor decks.

The Horizon Water Villa Suite with Pool offers the most remarkable views of all, with nothing but the endless horizon in sight. The Family Water Villas with Pool are the first of their kind at Six Senses Laamu. A dedicated children’s bedroom with its own adjacent bathroom gives little ones a space of their own, while the pool and deck keep everyone together. Days can be filled with the Junior Marine Biologist program; evenings end with dinner on the deck as the sun sets over the lagoon.
This launch is the first step in a carefully considered, property-wide evolution that will unfold over the coming years, refreshing both guest accommodations and shared spaces while preserving everything that makes Laamu, Laamu. More will follow in the seasons ahead. The new villas are available for stays from December 6, 2026. Rates start from USD 2185 in an Ocean Water Villa Suite with Pool.
