Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort has unveiled its festive season programme this year, inviting guests to celebrate Christmas, New Year and Orthodox Christmas through a series of dining experiences, island activities, family entertainment and ocean adventures.
The season begins with the Ocean of Lights Tree Lighting Ceremony on 20 December 2026, bringing guests together on the beach to mark the start of the festive celebrations with festive drinks, carols and the lighting of the resort’s festive tree.
Christmas Eve on 24 December features the Ocean Tribe Unites Christmas Eve Gala, with cocktails, a festive gala dinner and live music at Ocean Terrace. Christmas Day on 25 December continues with a Christmas Brunch at Charcoal, Santa’s Grand Arrival by sea and a Pool Cinema under the stars.

Dining forms an important part of the festive programme, with experiences including a Sandbank Castaway Lunch, Pool Party and Seafood BBQ. Guests can enjoy a private lunch on a sandbank, gather at Skipjack for an afternoon of food and music, or dine on fresh seafood prepared over an open flame with the ocean as a backdrop.
Families can also enjoy a programme of activities through AvaniKids & Teens, including Adventure Quest, Aqua Aerobics, Bubble Football, Water Polo and Cinema Under the Stars. The programme offers young guests opportunities to explore the island, take part in games and enjoy dedicated festive entertainment.

On 29 December, Voyagers of the Ocean brings guests together at Smugglers Shack for Captain’s Cocktails, followed by a Bonfire Dinner with grilled favourites, live music and an evening beneath the stars. Younger guests can enjoy Cinema Under the Stars as part of the evening’s activities.
The surrounding waters of Baa Atoll feature throughout the festive programme, with guests invited to experience manta ray snorkelling, nurse shark snorkelling, traditional sunset fishing and diving excursions. The activities offer opportunities to discover the marine environment surrounding the resort and explore the atoll’s underwater landscapes.
New Year’s Day on 1 January 2027 brings a full day of island activities, including a Dolphin Quest, water polo, children’s creative sessions, a New Year’s Day brunch, diving and snorkelling, beach activities, a sunset cruise, children’s entertainment and Pool Cinema.
The festive season concludes with Second Tide Orthodox Christmas on 6 January 2027, when guests can gather by the beach for cocktails and a gala dinner featuring seasonal favourites, live entertainment and an island setting.
Through its festive programme, Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort brings together dining, family activities, marine experiences and celebrations, offering guests a season shaped around the island, the ocean and time spent together.
